Dr. Bernd Montag

Bernd Montag, Ph.D., has been CEO of Siemens Healthineers since February 2015. As of March 2018, the company is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange as Siemens Healthineers AG (SHL). In September 2021, Siemens Healthineers joined the DAX, Germany’s most important stock market index.

Bernd Montag joined Siemens in 1995. He held positions in corporate quality management and sales in the hearing aid business before moving to the imaging systems unit in 1999, where he served as a product manager for computed tomography and as the head of marketing for the magnetic resonance business. In 2004, he assumed overall responsibility for computed tomography, and in 2008, he was named President of the imaging and therapy division, which combined the overall business of diagnostic imaging and image-guided therapies. 

Bernd Montag completed his studies in Physics at the Friedrich-Alexander-University, Erlangen-Nuremberg, and earned a Ph.D. in theoretical multi-particle physics. He was born in Munich, Germany, in 1969.

The healthcare cluster connects around 250 members from industry, research, and healthcare services to realize innovative healthcare solutions through interdisciplinary collaboration. “Innovation through cooperation” is once again the guiding principle of this year’s event, which offers inspiring keynotes, valuable networking, and in-depth exchange on the future fields of the healthcare sector. The event begins at 6:30 pm. CEO Dr. Bernd Montag will deliver the opening keynote.

Opening HEP Center Forchheim

The HEP Center Forchheim, a Siemens Healthineers facility, is at the forefront of technological innovation in the medical imaging field. As the birthplace of key components for CT scanners and other imaging devices, the technology center is a hub for quality, safety, and growth in healthcare technology. The official opening of the HEP center will be celebrated with political representatives from local, state, and federal level. CEO Dr. Bernd Montag and Member of the Managing Board Elisabeth Staudinger will participate in the event.

World Health Summit

Every October, the summit brings together more than 300 speakers and 4,000+ participants from politics, science, medicine, the private sector, and civil society. Through cross-sectoral collaboration, the summit has already achieved significant milestones on the path to a healthier, more equitable world. This year, CEO Dr. Bernd Montag is participating in a panel discussion on Monday, October 13th with, among others, Federal Health Minister Nina Warken on “Joining Forces to Control NCDs: How to Tackle the Largest Disease Burden”.
