Siemens Healthineers statement on Hologic patent case

Siemens Healthineers has filed an appeal against a ruling of the Unified Patent Court in Germany in a case brought by Hologic. The UPC on June 10 ruled that Siemens Healthineers had infringed a Hologic patent with the “flying focal spot” technology in our MAMMOMAT B.brilliant mammography system. While Siemens Healthineers respects the decision of the UPC, we disagree with its conclusions. The court's decision is limited to Germany, the Netherlands, and France and affects only Siemens Healthineers entities in these countries. The ruling does not concern the system's performance or security. Siemens Healthineers reserves the right to take additional legal action.

Cercare Medical and Siemens Healthineers today announced a global collaboration to accelerate the adoption of Cone-Beam CT Perfusion (CBCT-P) in acute stroke care and leverage its capability to show the flow of blood through the brain’s tissue and visualize how well different areas are being supplied with oxygen and nutrients.
