- Technology partnership spanning over eight years for sustainable high-quality care at Kantonsspital Baden, a hospital in Switzerland
- Procurement and maintenance of imaging systems, comprehensive training programs and support for research work
- Contract equivalent to roughly 41 million euros
Siemens Healthineers and the Kantonsspital Baden (KSB) in Switzerland, a networked, regional center of competence, have formed a long-term, strategic and technological partnership for the next eight years. This “Value Partnership” includes procurement and maintenance of medical imaging systems, holistic technology management with guaranteed uptime, expansion of telemedicine solutions, technology needs and capacity assessment, process optimization, and certified employee training programs. Siemens Healthineers will also provide active support in relocating all technology to the new hospital building and commissioning it, scheduled for a start late in 2023. It will also support the expansion of the hospital’s efforts in research, for instance in mammography. KSB will be getting the latest medical technology over the next few years, helping it further enhance patient care in its region. The volume of the partnership agreement is about 44 million Swiss francs, equivalent to roughly 41 million euros.
Considered as one of the fastest-growing, most innovative healthcare providers in Switzerland, KSB wants to expand its leading strategy in transforming care delivery with technological innovations and efficient processes. “We’ve worked with Siemens Healthineers before to optimize the layout of our new imaging center and to establish process-oriented, patient-centric structures. We had such a good experience then that now we’re also relying on a strategic and technological partnership. It will enhance our ability to keep offering our patients best access to first-class care,” said Adrian Schmitter, the CEO of KSB.
Kantonsspital Baden provides treatment for more than 20,000 inpatients and almost 200,000 outpatients a year. Its Health Innovation Hub, founded in early 2018, actively advances medical and technological progress. The hospital is planned to become a worldwide reference for Value Partnerships from Siemens Healthineers.
“We see this as yet another strategically important Value Partnership in Switzerland. It will link up our strong networks, and we’ll co-manage the technology at the hospital’s sites,” says Marcel Baumgartner, CEO of Siemens Healthineers Switzerland. “High-tech medical equipment is the central nervous system for future-proof healthcare delivery. Continuous training for the staff ensures that the technology will be applied the best possible ways.”
This collaboration with KSB is a long-term Value Partnership. This partnership model with Siemens Healthineers enables healthcare providers to optimize business processes, expand capabilities, and advance innovation. It spans on the entire Siemens Healthineers portfolio, to generate added value above and beyond equipment itself. Value Partnerships are designed to fit the customer’s needs entirely. Siemens Healthineers has formed Value Partnerships with many healthcare providers around the world. The latest examples include Hamilton Health Sciences in Canada, the University of Missouri System in the USA, Dallah Health Company in Saudi Arabia, and Braunschweig Municipal Hospital in Germany.
