The Dual Source Difference
Individualized patient care – today.
Dual Source CT can propel your Radiology department into the future starting today. Twice as fast as single source scanners, and designed to handle even challenging CT imaging procedures, Dual Source systems provide unmatched power, speed, and precision.1 Tested and perfected over 15 years, this one-of-a kind technology brings clinical excellence and workflow efficiency to your CT procedures.
One-of-a kind CT technology
The Dual Source technology is one-of-a kind and has revolutionized clinical capabilities in many ways by using two X-ray sources and two detectors at the same time. Thanks to unrivaled power, speed, and precision, Dual Source CT allows you to obtain high-quality results even in challenging and advanced imaging applications. With Dual Source technology, you can now face tomorrow's healthcare needs with confidence.
Discover 5 Dual Source imaging modes
Dual Source CT offers five essential imaging modes. They help you perform imaging procedures beyond the capabilities of single source scanners.
Fast temporal resolution
Dual Source CT can achieve temporal resolutions even below 75 milliseconds because both tubes work together during scans. No matter how demanding the application, you get artifact-free images beyond the physical limitations of single source scanners.
Differential diagnostic precision
Support accurate diagnosis, automated for safety and efficiency
Since its introduction, users have employed Dual Source CT technology to push the boundaries of CT imaging. Examine patients with no need for beta blockers2 or breath-holding, and with low dose of contrast media and radiation. Dose-neutral Dual Energy supports quantified therapy evalutions. On-board automation enables safe, standardized, efficient workflows with reproducible precision. And there is still a world of applications to explore. Discover how Dual Source CT can help you in your (differential) diagnostic precision.
Cardiac CT was the starting point for DSCT – and there are still many applications that are only possible with Dual Source technology.

Clinical use of SOMATOM Force
SOMATOM Force enables a new level of adaptability to patients, image quality and and clinical insights. Examine patients without having to control their heart rate, with no need for them to hold their breath, and with low contrast media dose. Support quantified therapy evalutations with dose-neutral Dual Energy. See for yourself.
Dual Source Dual Energy (DSDE) CT enables fast whole-body imaging at low radiation dose levels. It's also appropriate for emergency cases, as shown in this case of an occult ruptured aneurysm. Improved evaluations with contrast-enhanced DSDE.

Distinctive digital support
AI-driven and ready for the future
Using the power of AI and ultra-fast computing, we're connecting people, data, and technology to keep your fleet future-proof while improving efficiency, consistency, and the quality of patient care. Our algorithms are continually enhanced with each new scanner edition to deliver a system-wide performance that's more robust and reliable.
Empower your team
Train. Build. Motivate.
AI-powered digital solutions help your staff be more efficient, while a suite of industry-leading digital education programs keeps the skills of your Radiology department sharp from day one. Training is continuous and tailored to the individual to keep staff motivated and confident in their abilities. Administrators get the tools they need to monitor progress and fill expertise gaps.
AI algorithms at work
Unlock the power of AI
Inside our CTs, specialized algorithms are hard at work. One set of algorithms provides AI-powered workflow, assisting operators with repetitive tasks, and supporting doctors with complex diagnostic decisions. A second set of algorithms is designed to keep your CT fleet up and running by monitoring the scanner’s vitals in real time, such as the condition of the X-ray tube.

Introducing FAST Bolus
FAST Bolus revolutionizes bolus tracking in contrast media imaging by enabling automated and personalized scan trigger delays to improve image quality and show a more uniform contrast attenuation. With this feature, the chance of missing the contrast media bolus may be reduced, resulting in fewer non-diagnostic scans. The first publications show the potential of FAST Bolus to reduce the amount of iodine contrast media needed without impacting image quality.
Screening protocol for lung and calcium scoring
Lung screening is already established in many countries, and calcium scoring is an upcoming trend. We are anticipating that trend with our new ECG gated flash scan at 100 kV with tin filtration. This protocol enables you to answer two clinical questions in a single scan: lung screening and calcium scoring with a beat of the heart.
Boosted computing power
For greater performance and stability
Reduce waiting times and increase the throughput of your fleet with the latest generation of powerful reconstruction and acquisition workstations. Computing power has been upgraded to double the storage capacity and reconstruction speed compared with the previous computer generation. The resulting extra stability delivers an overall smoother user experience.
