Course description
This unique and intensive study programme is designed for radiographers new to imaging, or looking to advance their career. It can give expedited access to cross-sectional radiography training for students, newly qualified radiographers and radiographers in need of more in-depth training. Delivered over a period of three months, the programme provides learners with:
- An overview of the basic principles of MRI
- In-depth understanding of the modality
- Understanding of the clinical application of parameter changes on image quality and time
- Practical scanning experience using a simulator for routine MR
- An overview of MRI physics
- The soft skills needed to work as a team in a high-pressure environment
- A face-to-face teaching session with a Consultant Radiologist at the East of England Imaging Academy, providing an overview of MRI anatomy and pathology, including important considerations to be aware of as a radiographer, and when to flag important findings to a senior colleague.
