Dr. Girish Nadkarni and Nancy Brunzel will discuss CKD, AKI, and the effect COVID-19 has had on kidney health.

Ms. Brunzel will share her extensive knowledge and expertise in the field by presenting the background of urinalysis, policies and procedures, technology used for urinalysis, and defining urinalysis’ many uses. This presentation will cover the importance of screening for chronic kidney disease and how urinalysis can be used for such screening.

Dr. Nadkarni and team developed and executed a retrospective, observational study that reviewed data from electronic health records of patients aged 18 years or older with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 admitted to the Mount Sinai Health System. He will present his findings from this study and best practices for screening for CKD and AKI in COVID-19 patients.
