TwinBeam Dual Energy

TwinBeam Dual Energy enables the simultaneous acquisition of high and low energy spectra, which delivers additional diagnostic information without increase in dose.

With TwinBeam Dual Energy, diagnostic quality and confidence are improved. Therapy response of tumors can be evaluated faster, easier, and more reliably.

Características y Beneficios

Improved visualization of existing image content

  • Low keV content for improved visualization
  • Removal of confounding structures

Creation of new image content

  • Virtual non-contrast, iodine maps, tissue perfusion
  • Color coding of selected material

Opportunities to reduce radiation or utilization

  • Avoid need for follow-up evaluations (incidental lesion characterization)
  • Elimination of non-contrast phase with virtual non-contrast
  • Salvage poorly enhanced scans with low keV content

Uso Clínico

TwinBeam Dual Energy Monoenergetic
Monoenergetic 70 keV (left), Monoenergetic 50 keV (right) (Courtesy of University Hospital of Basel / Basel, Switzerland (top), Courtesy of Gunma Prefectural Cancer Center / Ota-Shi, Japan (bottom))

Through the application, monoenergetic images for a range of 40 – 190 keV are displayed. Diffuse lesions are detected with higher sensitivity. The simultaneous display of multiple monoenergetic ROIs and associated absorption curves lead to an easy comparison and quantification of lesions and tissues.

Virtual Unenhanced

The assessment of iodine uptake of an abdominal lesion can be used as an indicator whether a lesion is benign or malignant.

syngo.CT DE Lung Analysis
syngo.CT DE Lung Analysis (Courtesy of Kantonspital Luzern / Luzern, Switzerland)

The application directly visualizes the local iodine concentration in the lung parenchyma, which is a measure of the local blood volume, thus enabling a display of the area of possibly affected tissue. The application helps you in the evaluation of obstructive or restrictive lung disease as well as in the assessment of hemodynamic perfusion deficts e.g. caused by pulmonary emboli.
