Adopted from the successful Latin American series, Hemostasis Learning Essentials is an educational program comprising clinical and scientific content dedicated to hemostasis.

Taught by renowned experts in hemostasis, the sessions will increase your understanding of hemostasis principles by broadening and strengthening your knowledge of basic coagulation, bleeding disorders, thrombophilia, anticoagulant therapy, lupus anticoagulant, and other acquired coagulopathies.

    Jecko Thachil
    Jecko Thachil, MD 

    Jecko Thachil, MD, is an honorary consultant in haemostasis and thrombosis at Manchester Royal Infirmary Hospital and clinical academic professor of infection and global health at the University of Manchester, UK. He is a member of the Subcommittee on Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation of the International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis and the editor of the journal Physicians' Information and Education Resource for the American College of Physicians. He is the author of more than 70 publications in specialized journals and co-author of the guideline on DIC of the British Committee for Standards in Hematology.

    John Mitsios
    John Mitsios, Ph.D. 

    John Mitsios holds a PhD degree in chemistry from the University of Ioannina, Greece, and is a postdoctoral fellow at the San Diego-California School of Medicine. His main research interest is in coagulation, with an emphasis on the laboratory diagnosis of bleeding disorders. He was an assistant professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and an assistant clinical chemist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Most recently, he was deputy director of the Specialty Coagulation Laboratory at BioReference Laboratories and co-author of 20 peer-reviewed articles and three book chapters. Currently, he is a senior clinical hemostasis consultant at Siemens Healthineers.
