: Ablation is a curative intent treatment option for small-size CRLM, offering fewer adverse events and is more tissue sparing than surgery.
Thermal ablation should be considered as an alternative to surgical resection for small-size CRLM, even when resectable. The COLLISION trial demonstrated no significant difference in overall survival between thermal ablation and surgical resection, while reducing hospital stay from 4 days to 1 day.
: Margin status is a key independent predictor of local tumor progression (LTP)
myAblation Guide supports precise margin definition during planning and provides immediate intraprocedural margin assessment to help ensure complete tumor coverage and improve tumor control. Achieving a minimum ablation margin (MAM) > 5 mm is commonly considered essential for a successful ablation.⁴ Furthermore,MAM quantified using intraprocedural imaging has been shown to be significantly more predictive of LTP compared to margins assessed only with periprocedural imaging.⁶ – underscoring the value of real-time margin confirmation.
: Software based assessment improves ablative margin and is safe.
myAblation Guide provides immediate postprocedural margin assessment supported by advanced multimodality image registration, enabling reliable evaluation of tumor coverage. Without image registration, margin assessment is challenging even for experienced radiologists⁷ a, contributing to variable local tumor progression (LTP) rates of 12%-54% after liver thermal ablation.⁵ The COVER-ALL trial⁵, a phase 2 randomized clinical trial, demonstrated that software-assisted assessment is safe and significantly improves the minimal ablative margin, reinforcing its role in evaluation treatment success.⁴
