Siemens Healthineers today announced the expansion of manufacturing footprint in India with the local production of the Artis one Edition X angiography system at company’s Bengaluru factory. The system will be manufactured alongside the facility’s existing portfolio of mobile C-arms, CT scanners, MRI systems, and digital radiography X-ray systems, further strengthening the company’s commitment to the Make in India initiative and to advancing access to innovative healthcare technologies across the country.
Technology plays a pivotal role in addressing complex health challenges, enabling earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment. As cardiovascular diseases continue to rise in India, the demand for advanced interventional therapy solutions is becoming increasingly critical.
With its advanced capabilities, Artis One Edition X empowers clinicians with enhanced imaging and workflow efficiency while supporting improved patient outcomes. It helps interventionalists perform procedures that restore blood flow and treat blockages in arteries and veins, thereby benefitting patients with conditions such as heart disease, kidney failure, and irregular heart rhythms.
Additionally, India's cath lab density currently stands at just 1.5 to 1.75 per million people, underscoring the urgent need for accessible cardiac care infrastructure. This growing demand is evident in the widespread adoption of angiography systems across metropolitan hubs and tier 2/3 cities.
"India's growth story is a testament to its immense potential in healthcare innovation. By expanding our manufacturing base, we are deepening our commitment to impact lives for the better, elevating healthcare with our expertise and vision to benefit both customers and patients across the nation" - Hariharan Subramanian, Managing Director, Siemens Healthcare Private Limited.

Designed as a compact, low-maintenance, and versatile solution, Artis One Edition X enables healthcare providers to treat a greater number of patients efficiently while maintaining high clinical standards. The universal angiography system combines flexibility with advanced imaging features, making it the need of the hour for hospitals and healthcare providers looking to expand their interventional capabilities.
This strategic expansion of production portfolio not only addresses the surging demand for advanced therapies amid rising heart ailments but also positions Siemens Healthineers as a key enabler of accessible, high-quality care in India's evolving healthcare landscape.
