Objective: Increase awareness on prevention of Hypertension & Diabetes and encourage lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of NCDs, conduct community-based screening to identify high risk individuals and create referral system for treatment and management of NCDs in Dhenkanal District of Orissa.

O2 Plant at COVID care center, Bengaluru
Project: Oxygen Plant for Saving Lives
Impact: An Oxygen plant was set up in partnership with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in Bengaluru, Karnataka, to fight the pandemic COVID-19.

Modular Healthcare Facility to combat COVID-19
Project: MediCAB Healthcare Facility
Impact: A 20-bedded modular health facility was set up on the premises of Vivekananda Memorial Hospital (VMH) in Heggadadevanakote Taluk of Mysore District of Karnataka, to fight COVID-19.
In the past, VMH Hospital was also supported to provide quality, affordable healthcare to tribal and rural populations in a phased manner, benefiting 8,977 patients (58% tribal and 42% rural).

Computer literacy for slum and rural children
Project: Saksham
Impact: Five computer labs were set up in remedial schools in Assam and the slums of Delhi to promote functional knowledge of computers and enable digital learning for children and youth. Nearly 250 children and youths benefited.

Project: Skilling for Better Health and Living
Impact: Skill imparted to 250 youth in health sector belonging to socially and economically weaker section of the society from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Ranchi and 97% of which were employed.

Access to blood transfusion services for thalassemia patients
Project: Blood transfusion for Thalassemia;
Impact: Blood transfusion services offered to nearly 500 underprivileged and poor Thalassemic children at Manipal hospital transfusion center in Bangalore, Karnataka in a phased manner.

Rehabilitating people with spinal cord injuries
Project: INSPIRE
Impact: Facilitated the creation of India's first Integrated Spinal Rehabilitation Centre (INSPIRE) in Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, to provide individualized, holistic treatment programme for persons with Spinal Cord injuries. 26 patients received rehabilitation support at the centre in the second phase.

Predicting outbreak of vector borne diseases
Project: SARTHI
Impact: Social Analytics for Rapid Transformation in Health for India (‘SARTHI) a digital platform developed using social insights to enhance the national disease surveillance initiative. It aims to provide strategic technical support to the Government of India on the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, and Chikungunya.

Ensuring access to primary eyecare services
Project: Sight for Life
Impact: A Vision Center was set up in the Siwan District of Bihar to improve access to primary eye care services and prevent avoidable blindness. It has also created employment opportunities to women trained as optometrist. More than 3,600 community members accessed eye care services.

The ‘Making a Difference’ initiative from Siemens Healthineers enables and encourages employees to participate in and volunteer their time and skill to give back to the community. Passionate volunteers are actively engaging in CSR projects by giving their time and talent to create a positive impact in the community.
