An infrarenal aortic occlusion in a young adult

A 27-year-old female patient came to the hospital complaining of intermittent dizziness and headaches, worsened by exertion and relieved by rest, over the past month. She reported coldness and weakness in her lower limbs since childhood. A CT angiography was requested for a diagnostic work-up of the aorta to rule out a steno-occlusive disease.
Clinical Results
Two cVRT images show an overview of a d-TGA in three dimensions. Bilateral posterior pulmonary hypertension, causing a limited volume of the inflated lungs (in blue), is also seen. The bronchial tree appeared normal.

A Taussig-Bing anomaly in a neonate

A full-term neonate was born with a suspicious congenital heart malformation. Prior to the planned surgical repair, a cardiac CT examination was requested to evaluate the heart anatomy, the great arteries and the coronary arteries.

Clinical Results
A cinematic VRT image rendered with UHR images shows a three-dimensional view of the coronary tree with the stents and the calcified plaques highlighted in blue.

Multiple coronary stents – in-stent restenosis?

A 71-year-old male patient with a history of coronary stenting came to the hospital for a regular follow-up. Four stents had been implanted. A coronary CT angiography was performed with NAEOTOM Alpha®, using Quantum HD Cardiac mode, to assess the coronary stent patency and plaque burden.

A cVRT image shows a splenomegaly and abdominal wall varices.

Tophaceous Gout of the Middle Ear

A 75-year-old female patient was presented to the hospital due to an episode of instability. A routine examination revealed a progressive conductive hearing loss on the right side. An ultra-high resolution scan was performed using a dual source photon-counting detector CT, NAEOTOM Alpha®, to investigate the etiology of her hearing loss.

A cVRT image shows a splenomegaly and abdominal wall varices.

A rare Budd-Chiari syndrome

A 53-year-old female patient, complaining of abdominal wall varices, progressive abdominal tenderness and fatigue for the past two years, came to the hospital for a check-up. A triple-phase (arterial, portal-venous and delayed) contrast-enhanced abdominal CT examination was requested and performed for assessment.

Clinical Results
NAEOTOM Alpha.Prime, NAEOTOM Alpha.Pro and NAEOTOM ALpha.Peak are pending 510(k) clearance and are not yet commercially available in the United States and other regions.
