A 5-month-old baby was born with heart murmurs. An echocardiogram revealed a suspected Tetralogy of Fallot. The patient was admitted to the hospital for surgical repair. A cardiac CT angiography was requested for preoperative evaluation.

A 38-year-old female obese patient suffered from an acute pulmonary embolism 18 months ago. Despite adequate anticoagulant treatment, her dyspnea persisted. The patient was referred for a CT pulmonary angiography to clarify a potential evolution towards chronic pulmonary embolism.

A 42-year-old male patient, suffering from exertional chest tightness and shortness of breath for the past 4 days, came to the hospital. A coronary angiography was performed which revealed severe stenoses in the mid RCA and the proximal  LAD. CABG was immediately performed. Seven days later, a CTA was requested to assess the patency of the grafts and the anastomoses.

An 83-year-old male patient, with a previous episode of massive acute thromboembolic disease within the context of COVID-19, was diagnosed with pre-capillary pulmonary hypertension (PH). He was referred for a contrast enhanced chest CT to evaluate the etiology of the PH.

The ability of radiologists at the University Hospital Pilsen to observe tumor development and metastasis in cancer patients has taken a leap forward, according to radiologist Professor Jiří Ferda.

A 62-year-old male patient with severe symptomatic low-flow, low-gradient aortic stenosis was scheduled for transcatheter aortic valve replacement. A coronary CT angiography was performed prior to the procedure, using an ultra-high resolution scan mode due to the patient’s high coronary calcium load.

The improved resolution offered by photon-counting technology is a game changer for neurologists at Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam, says lead researcher Professor Aad van der Lugt.

A 60-year-old female patient with severe obesity (300 kg body weight) was admitted to the hospital due to sepsis and acute renal failure. A lung X-ray was performed and revealed a small lesion at the level of the right pulmonary hilus with an unclear nature. A contrast enhanced CT was requested for further investigation.

A 53-year-old male patient, suffering from severe emphysema and hyperinflation, was treated with endobronchial valve deposition – an interventional procedure aiming to reduce the lung volume in order to improve ipsilateral diaphragmatic motion and subsequently, the patient’s respiratory condition. An UHR chest CT was indicated for post-procedural evaluation.

A 56-year-old male patient, suffering from an ulceration on the lateral side of his right foot for the past two weeks, came to the hospital. He reported intermittent pain in his right lower limb, which had not been treated. A runoff CTA was performed for vascular evaluation.

A 70-year-old female patient, suffering from intermittent pain in the interscapular dorsal region, occasionally associated with dyspnea, over the past year, came to the cardiology clinic.

A 16-year-old female dog, suffering from a massive paraspinal mass on her left lower back for the past 6 months, was referred for palliative treatment as the mass was considered nonresectable due to its size and location. A contrast CT was performed to assess the extent of the mass, as well as its relationship to the surrounding tissues and the lumbar spine.
