Women today have more equality than ever before, but unfortunately, the earth's 3.5 billion women are not equal when it comes to their health or the healthcare they receive. Osteoporosis is the most common type of bone disease.1 Over 200 million people suffer from osteoporosis worldwide,2 and 80% are women.3 More than 8.9 million global fractures annually (approximately 1000 fractures per hour) can be attributed to osteoporosis.4

In this webinar, we will examine women’s health as it relates to common forms of bone disease, including key testing relative to diagnosis, risk assessment, and prevention.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the gender differences and disparities in bone disease.
  • Know the risks and symptoms of and diagnostic processes for bone disease.
  • Learn how laboratory diagnostic testing plays an integral role in caring for women throughout the continuum of bone disease.

Siemens continues to provide educational opportunities on key topics important to laboratorians. We invite you to participate in other Siemens webinars. Log on and learn!
