Webinar: The future of medical imaging and the evolving role of technology in MRI
Date: Thursday, March 14th, 2024
Mr. Wahyu Widhianto brings over a decade of experience to the table, having started his journey as a Medical Physicist, wielding the precision of radiation therapy. His passion for medical technology then led him to Siemens Indonesia, where he served as an Application Specialist in Oncology and later, a Clinical Application Specialist specializing in MRI.
In this video, the following topics are discussed:
- Democratizing MRI access: The MAGNETOM Free.Star's focus on increasing access to MRI is commendable, especially considering the limitations of conventional scanners on cost and complexity.
- Rethinking MRI technology: The scanner's design challenges the traditional reliance on high-powered hardware in favor of innovative solutions like coil technology and AI-powered image reconstruction. This shift could lead to more efficient and effective MRI systems in the future.
- Balancing power and practicality: The analogy of a sports car versus a city car aptly highlights the need for appropriate technology, not just the most advanced. Similar to how excessive horsepower is unnecessary for daily commutes, unnecessarily powerful MRI scanners might not be optimal for all clinical settings.
Webinar: MRI for Everyone, but Why High-V MRI?
Date: Tuesday, October 17th, 2023
Dr. Chien Phan Cong, the lead radiologist at University Medical Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, shares his insights and experiences on MAGNETOM Free.Star based on his recent visit to Siemens Healthineers Headquarter in Erlangen, Germany. Dr. Chien has a strong background in Mathematics and MRI Physics and has also worked on numerous artificial intelligence projects with startup companies from Vietnam.
He believes that MRI should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their location or financial status, because it is an incredibly useful and important diagnostic imaging tool. Access to MRI could potentially change the course of a patient's life, but unfortunately, not all patients have an equal chance to benefit from MRI due to various reasons. For instance, some patients may live in geographically rural areas where there are no qualified professionals to operate an MRI. In many cases, limited access to MRI is associated with infrastructure challenges such as unstable power supply.
Hear from Dr. Chien as he will be sharing his thoughts on why MAGNETOM Free.Star is the solution to solve the MRI accessiblity challenge and also he will discuss the concept of "high value" and how it applies to MRI, based on his practical experience and expertise.
Webinar: Expanding the clinical reality with MAGNETOM Free.Star
Date: Monday, April 10th, 2023
Dr. Ricardo Sampaio, an expert in the field, has experienced firsthand the advantages of MAGNETOM Free.Star. This innovative technology has allowed him and his department to overcome the infrastructure limitations they previously faced with a conventional 1.5T MRI. Thanks to MAGNETOM Free.Star, Dr. Sampaio is able to maintain excellent image quality while providing MRI services to a previously underserved population. This has increased his confidence in his reporting and allowed him to better serve his patients.
