Scott D. Isaacs, MD, FACP, FACE, is an endocrinologist and obesity medicine specialist in Atlanta, Georgia. Since 1998, he has focused his practice on endocrinology, cardiometabolic disorders, and medically supervised weight loss.

Dr. Isaacs attended medical school at Emory University School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency and fellowship in endocrinology. He continues his 35-year association with Emory University as adjunct assistant professor of medicine in the School of Medicine.

He is a consultant for the ABC television network, keeping reality show participants healthy and safe and correcting misinformation about endocrine and cardiometabolic disorders. Dr. Isaacs has mentored celebrity fitness trainer Jillian Michaels, who refers to him as the “guru of all things endocrine.” He recently appeared in The New York Times and is a contributor to CNN, NPR, Dr. Phil, and other broadcast programs.

Dr. Isaacs is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and the American College of Physicians. He is a two-time past president of the Georgia chapter of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and is a past president of the Atlanta chapter of the American Diabetes Association. He currently serves as secretary for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and as the co-chair of the Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Clinical Practice Guidelines task force.
