Security Appliance Solution

Avoid cybersecurity risks for network endpoints

Our Security Appliance Solution helps you to easily protect medical devices with third-party operating systems that are no longer supported. This allows you to continue using your equipment in the hospital network securely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Security Appliance Solution consists of the Security Appliance and the optional Managed Security Service.

The Security Appliance Solution provides you with

  • protection of your patients and their data
  • optimized secure lifetime of medical equipment
  • compliance with state-of-the-art cybersecurity and data privacy requirements

    Virus Protection

    Virus Protection scans your equipment for malware and alerts you of detected infections. The patterns to identify viruses are regularly updated through SRS.2

    Cybersecurity Management Services

    Manage the security of your equipment from the first day

    The new generation of Siemens Healthineers Equipment comes with state-of-the-art cybersecurity features built in3. Cybersecurity Management Services offer a suite of integrated services that help you maintain the cybersecurity of your equipment provided that it is running on the most recent software version.

    With Cybersecurity Management Services, a global team of security and product experts manages the security of your equipment from the first day. To continuously keep your equipment running on the latest software version, we offer additional Upgrade Programs4.

    Cybersecurity Management Services allow you to actively manage cyber risks for:

    • Patient safety – receive continuous cybersecurity updates through various channels to protect patients and their data
    • Transparency – gain insights into the cybersecurity status of your equipment to control and minimize your cyber risks
    • Compliance – fulfill regulatory guidelines with state-of-the-art cybersecurity mechanisms to reduce liability risks

    Upgrade Programs

    For you to be able to keep your equipment on the latest software version, we’re offering a wide range of different upgrade programs for the different systems from Siemens Healthineers.

    Depending on the modality, the optional Upgrade Programs are: One-time system upgrades, the Evolve Program, EVOLVE.Express, IT Care Plan or the Advance Plans.

    Connection to Smart Remote Services (SRS) infrastructure is required. SRS has advanced security measures in place and is compliant with the ISO 27001:2017 Standard for Information Security.

    Cybersecurity updates are available when your system runs on the latest software version
    CMS: Regular Cybersecurity Updates are only available for the latest system software versions as released by the modalities.
    SAS: The Security Appliance complies to the Siemens Healthineers Cybersecurity Terms and Conditions.
    SAS: The Security Appliance includes firmware, system and virus pattern updates and a license grant limited to 5 years for the selected modality.
    SAS: Prerequisite: stable SRS connection with adequate bandwidth.
