Serology tests for antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus have been in use for population sero-surveillance, as an aid in diagnosis, and for convalescent plasma screening. As effective COVID-19 vaccines are being approved and deployed, there is new interest in serology tests as a surrogate measure of protective anti-viral immunity. At the same time, the emergence of new viral strains threatens the effectiveness of existing control measures and vaccines.

Dr. Teo received her training in Biology and Immunology from Johns Hopkins University and Stanford University. Since then, she has had more than 10 years of R&D experience in academia and industry, working with various types of products in the medical device and IVD space. Dr. Teo has been awarded 2 US patents, and her peer reviewed publications have received more than 3000 citations.
At Siemens Healthineers, Dr. Teo is responsible for clinical education, clinical trials and scientific communications.
