Access to affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare is a key task for the national governments. In the context of global pandemic, tightening public budgets and a growing demand for healthcare services, PPPs provide an opportunity for innovative and collaborative service delivery. Therefore, many governments are turning to PPPs in high need to innovate for better delivery of public healthcare and are employing PPPs as a way of introducing private sector technologies and innovations.
What are PPPs?
Medtech PPPs
PPPs involving supply medtech are very common and cover the provision of the medical equipment, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), laboratory equipment, operating theatres and related services on maintenance, refreshments, operation management, optimization of workflows, facility planning to mention a few. The share of the medical equipment and related services in hospital’s budget is increasing and medtech component is becoming an essential and increasingly important component in any PPP project.

Siemens Healthineers has been engaged in public-private partnership projects for more than 20 years on all continents. This PPP project portfolio was enlarged after the merger with Varian and is now extended to cancer treatment.
