Test detects antibodies to spike protein – a key protein
Importantly, the test detects antibodies to a key protein on the surface of the SARS-CoV-2 virus—a spike protein, which binds the virus to cells with a distinct human receptor found in lungs, heart, multiple organs and blood vessels. Studies indicate that certain (neutralizing) antibodies to the spike protein can disarm SARS-CoV-2. Multiple potential vaccines in development for SARS-CoV-2 include the spike protein within their focus.
Siemens Healthineers plans to ship more than 50 million antibody tests per month worldwide as production capacity increases. Find here footage from our sites in Tarrytown (NY) and Walpole (MA) to use for your broadcast. CE-marked for sale in the EU. This test has not been reviewed by the FDA. In the US, use of this test is limited to laboratories that are certified under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) to perform high-complexity testing. Product availability may vary by country and is subject to regulatory requirements.

The University Hospital Giessen is the first hospital in Germany where a robotic system assists in a minimally invasive procedure to place a stent into a narrowed coronary artery to reopen it. This percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) was carried out by the team of Prof. Holger Nef, Deputy Clinical Director Medical Clinic I, Cardiology and Angiology, University Giessen. To control interventional devices, doctors use the endovascular robotic system, CorPath® GRX from Corindus, a Siemens Healthineers company, together with an Artis angiography system from Siemens Healthineers.
Based on MR images and ECG measurements, digital twin technology simulates the physiological processes of a patient’s organ. Virtual planning is used to visualize responses to treatment before the intervention. Siemens Healthineers is developing algorithms that generate digital models of organs based on vast amounts of data.

Rapid delivery of three-dimensional results is now possible thanks to Syngo.via diagnostic software. A few clicks are all it takes to display the given case on the monitor, presenting photorealistic images of unprecedented clarity of the human body with the Cinematic Volume Rendering Technique (Cinematic VRT) already known as 'Cinematic Rendering'. Cinematic VRT is recommended for communication, education, and publication purposes and not intended for diagnostic reading.
