Vascular Ultrasound
This one-day course is designed to assist sonographers in the development of vascular sonography skills or to strengthen existing skills. Each of the topics will be supported by theory and hands-on activities to strengthen scanning confidence.
Upper Extremity Venous Sonography
At the end of this session, attendants will:
- Be familiar with upper extremity venous anatomy and hemodynamics
- Know about basic upper extremity venous scanning techniques
- List some of the common pathologies affecting upper extremity veins
Liver Doppler and Portal Hypertension
At the end of this session, attendants will:
- Be familiar with intrahepatic vessels and their hemodynamics
- Know about basic liver Doppler scanning techniques
- Understand portal hypertension
- Recognize common sonographic features of portal hypertension
Renal Doppler
At the end of this session, attendants will:
- Be familiar with renal vessels and their hemodynamics
- Know about basic renal Doppler scanning techniques in both native and transplant kidneys
- Understand renal artery stenosis
- Recognize common sonographic features of renal artery stenosis in both native and transplant kidneys
