In conversation with Will Falk

Health policy thought leader, Executive-in-Residence at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and Senior Fellow at the CD Howe Institute, Will Falk sat down with Dylan Marando, Head of Public Policy and Government Relations, Canada at Siemens Healthineers, to discuss his recent report— Healthcare’s Next Evolution: Rethinking Social Factors in Financing

In a wide-ranging conversation exploring issues from health human resources to AI, Will Falk suggests that Canadian healthcare systems can plan for the future by looking to the past. He argues that 2024 is a pivotal year for Canadian healthcare and that it may be time for policymakers, providers, and patients to rally around a renewed set of principles when undertaking system reforms, including a greater emphasis on equity, outcomes, and consumer choice.


Will Falk is a retired PwC partner focused on advancing healthcare through policy and digital innovation. He is a Senior Fellow at the CD Howe Institute, an Executive-in-Residence at the Rotman School of Management, and a Board Director at Verto Health. He also serves as an Innovation Fellow at Women’s College Hospital's WIHV.

Will Falk is an active community volunteer, currently on the Boards of the AMS Foundation and West Neighbourhood House. He has a rich history of advisory roles, including advising the Harper and Martin governments on healthcare policy and contributing to the 2012 Ontario physician fee negotiations.

Falk’s career includes senior roles at APM/CSC, Capgemini, Accenture, and PwC, working with clients in academic medicine, government, and hospital systems. He retired from PwC in 2017 after leading the Canadian Healthcare practice for over five years.
