Virus Protection

Virus Protection

Safeguarding your system from cyber threats

Overview

With the growing utilization of computer-based communications and the proliferation of electronic data exchange, clinical networks and medical systems are increasingly the target of attacks by malicious software such as viruses and worms. As a result, the need for a virus protection service specifically designed for medical systems continues to grow. With Virus Protection, Siemens Healthineers is meeting this challenge head on.

Features & Benefits

Virus Protection functions behind the scenes, detecting, isolating, and eliminating malicious viruses while continuously updating systems with pattern updates to defend against future attacks.

In the unlikely event a virus does get through, a Siemens Healthineers service engineer can help you get back up and running as quickly as possible.

We offer two types of protection: Whitelisting and Blacklisting. Whitelisting is embedded in the system’s software. Blacklisting is available with virus protection added to a service agreement. The type of protection offered varies by modality, system, and software version. See the table below to understand the differences between Whitelisting and Blacklisting.
