St. Vincent’s Private Hospital has become the first hospital in Ireland to install the LUMINOS Q.namix R fluoroscopy system from Siemens Healthineers for improved workflow and enhanced visualisation. The system was introduced as part of a long‑term Value Partnership between the two organisations - a collaborative approach to technology investment that supports ongoing service development. By combining real‑time fluoroscopic imaging with conventional radiography on a single platform, the system supports a wide range of procedures while enabling accurate patient positioning and safer working practices within the examination suite.

The Value Partnership between Siemens Healthineers and St. Vincent’s Private Hospital is a structured, 10-year agreement that supports the hospital’s imaging services through planned technology investment, maintenance and lifecycle management. This approach enables imaging capacity and capability to evolve in line with clinical demand, helping to support consistent patient care. Fluoroscopy is one of the key imaging technologies supported through this investment, providing real-time imaging guidance during a range of examinations and interventions, including gastrointestinal studies, orthopaedic imaging and urology procedures.

Designed to fully integrate multiple imaging capabilities within a single, adaptable platform, the LUMINOS Q.namix R fluoroscopy system allows clinicians to move seamlessly between fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging without interrupting examination workflows. Developed in collaboration with clinicians, the system includes built‑in workflow guidance to support consistent image quality and streamlined examinations, helping to minimise repeat imaging and unnecessary dose exposure.

The system has also contributed to an improved working environment within the examination suite. Large monitors provide clear image visibility from across the room, allowing clinicians to view imaging comfortably during procedures, while an integrated patient camera supports continuous observation to help ensure accurate positioning and patient monitoring throughout examinations.

“Since installing the LUMINOS Q.namix R system, it has quickly become an integral part of our fluoroscopy service,” states Charmedene Kleinbooi, radiology service manager in general radiology and PACS at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital. “Introducing the system through a Value Partnership has allowed us to focus not only on the technology itself, but on how it supports our service now and into the future. The image quality across both fluoroscopic and radiographic examinations is excellent, and the ability to transition easily between techniques supports a smoother flow between procedures. As demand continues to increase, the system is already having a positive impact for both patients and staff.”

“Flexible imaging systems that support efficient workflows and high diagnostic performance are increasingly important as imaging demand continues to grow,” said Jo Barry, business manager for X‑ray products at Siemens Healthineers Great Britain and Ireland. “Being the first hospital in Ireland to install LUMINOS Q.namix R reflects close collaboration between clinical teams and technology partners to support day‑to‑day clinical work and long‑term service planning.”
