The trust is among the first to benefit from a MAGNETOM Viato.Mobile MRI system from Siemens Healthineers, provided in one of Fairford Medical’s mobile units. The system is set to cut appointment times in half, doubling the number of patients receiving MRI scans. Leveraging Deep Resolve, an AI-powered image reconstruction technology, the system boosts workflow efficiency and improves patient experience together with the excellent mobile MRI environment.

The MAGNETOM Viato.Mobile joins a fleet of static MRI systems already in use at the trust.  By leveraging connectivity between the mobile and the static MRIs across the trust, the team can optimise use of the systems to minimise changeover for different types of scans, ultimately increasing availability for patients. Utilising Deep Resolve AI technology, the imaging department is on track to double the number of patients receiving MRI scans.

Installation in a mobile setup provides greater flexibility in deploying MRI imaging and allows patients to receive planned diagnostics without the need to attend acute hospital sites. With the added scanning capacity, the trust has been able to better support patient demand for imaging while they complete building works for a Community Diagnostic Centre. The system is scheduled to move to a new location at the start of 2024, where it will continue to deliver care for non-acute patients.

Equipped with Deep Resolve and built on a powerful 1.5T platform, the MAGNETOM Viato.Mobile provides staff with advanced AI to accelerate workflows and enhance clinical performance. Deep Resolve’s AI-powered raw data-to-image reconstruction and quick acquisition enables shorter scan times, reducing energy consumption per patient. The system also includes BioMatrix Technology which automatically adjusts to patients unique, individual characteristics, personalising exams and supporting staff in overcoming variation in imaging results.

“We knew we wanted a system with AI-powered Deep Resolve technology which enables us to scan patients at lightning speed without sacrificing quality,” says the trusts MRI Superintendent Radiographer. “The MAGNETOM Viato.Mobile from Siemens Healthineers is already delivering benefits to the imaging department, both in terms of time and quality of care that patients receive. The improved workflow has supported us in cutting appointment times by half, helping us work within NHS patient turnaround timeframes and offer more flexibility for patient appointments.”

“Combining advanced MRI and AI technology with the flexibility of a mobile environment ensures patients have access to high-quality care when and where they need it most,” states Alistair Piggot, Magnetic Resonance Business Manager at Siemens Healthineers Great Britain & Ireland. “Working in collaboration with Fairford Medical and the trust, we are proud to see the expanded capacity Deep Resolve AI technology is helping to provide in combination with the MAGNETOM Viato.Mobile from Siemens Healthineers.”

“We are proud to partner with Siemens Healthineers and support NHS Hospitals in boosting workflow efficiency and enhancing patient experience,” says Matthew Bradfield, Managing Director at Fairford Medical. “Being among the first in the UK to be delivering care with the latest technology, we have been able to support increased capacity ultimately resulting in shorter wait times for patients across the region.”
