
Dorcas Adewunmi, Biochemistry Scientist, Llanberis
Having completed a master’s degree in pharmacology and biotechnology at Sheffield Hallam University, and an undergraduate degree in biochemistry in Nigeria, Dorcas Adewunmi was excited to secure a role as a Biochemistry Scientist in Critical Raw Materials Manufacturing at Siemens Healthineers, Llanberis.
Dorcas’ role as a Biochemist is incredibly diverse, “Siemens Healthineers is a dynamic work environment, with each day different from the next and great potential for career growth,” states Dorcas. “Who wouldn’t want to be a part of world healthcare solutions?”
In her spare time, Dorcas has various hobbies including writing about her life and faith, cooking, videography, going to the gym and playing the violin. “To live a fulfilled life, my life cannot just revolve around work and home,” Dorcas explains. “I do not believe that I must only be one thing, I can be as many things as I want if I so choose!”
“At Siemens Healthineers I can infuse my creativity and my own way of doing things into my job as a scientist,” states Dorcas. “I choose to be a light wherever I am. My colleagues come in daily as their best selves, ready to solve problems and help one another. They have helped me a lot and I couldn’t have made it this far without them.”

Gabrielle King, Senior Change Manager
Gabrielle King, Senior Change Manager at Siemens Heathineers Magnet Technology Oxford
Following her apprenticeship in Berlin, Germany, Gabrielle started her position as Graduate Change Manager at Magnet Technology in 2017. Just a few years later, Gabrielle is now a Senior Change Manager.
Gabrielle says that for her, there is no typical work day. "The great thing about managing your own projects is that you get to be there from the development of an idea, right through to implementation, working with every department in the business along the way."
Discussing some of her work challenges, Gabrielle says: "What I find the most challenging, but at the same time rewarding, is bringing together a cross-functional team and aligning them on a core idea and strategy. All departments have differing requirements and opinions, so to have everybody in agreement with everyone’s needs taken into consideration is a great achievement."

Raquel Clara, Technician
A Technician at Siemens Healthineers Magnet Technology facility in Oxford, Raquel Clara engages with a broad spectrum of areas. These include customer spare and repair requirements, warranties and returns, coordinating supplier commitments, ensuring the efficient repair and replenishment of operating stock, and testing new dry magnets.
"When we think about hospitals, we usually think about nurses and doctors, but there's also all the background staff that you just don't think about,” states Raquel. ‘By , you get opportunities to work on technology that helps save lives, so I feel like what I do is having an impact, and this is very important to me.’
As a working parent, Raquel draws on her experiences at home, "Becoming a mother has enabled me to further appreciate the importance of strategic planning and prioritisation, especially when I value producing high-quality work as well as being completely present with my daughter."
Starting a new job at age 42, with a young child, Raquel was happy to discover the supportive and collaborative culture at Siemens Healthineers. “The way people collaborate and the way that they are there for each other, is something that I’ve never experienced in other companies before. Many people have a long history of service at Siemens Healthineers and colleagues are very supportive of family issues, mental health and wellbeing.”

Lois Owen, Quality Systems Engineer at Siemens Healthineers Llanberis
My main duties involve: ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and other international Regulatory requirements, making certain that business needs are met through the delivery and operation of vigilance and post market activities, internal and external audits and the CAPA system.
After completing a Degree in Biomedical Science in Bangor University, my initial goal was to be a scientist. I had a young family after finishing University, so getting a job in a company like Siemens was perfect for me – being local to where I live was another plus! I began in my first role as a Technician in Technical Operations in late 2010, progressing to a Scientist in early 2013. I have now transitioned to Quality Systems Engineer within the Quality Management department.

Alex Cook, Solution Architect
Ensuring work-life balance between your career and personal interests can be challenging, but Alex Cook balances her career while fulfilling her community-focused passions.
As a Solution Architect within the Siemens Healthineers Enterprise Services team, Alex Cook leads customer engagement to create meaningful and collaborative partnerships. With no two days or projects the same, Alex works with many diverse groups of people and believes there is a role for everyone at Siemens Healthineers.
With a background in the NHS as a radiographer, moving to her role at Siemens Healthineers enabled Alex to continue working with hospital departments to assist in building patient-centric departments, hospitals or pathways with staff having input throughout.
When asked about what Alex would say to women considering a role at Siemens Healthineers, she explained, “Siemens Healthineers enables you to be your authentic self. The company really enhances everyone’s strong points, and we all learn from each other in areas that we can constantly improve in." She also suggests that there is a strong, energetic female workforce at Siemens Healthineers, with mentors and supporters assisting her along the way.
Alex now balances volunteering as a crew member at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) with her career and is committed to undertaking 40 charity challenges before she turns 40. Alex explained, “I never sit still outside of work, and I have always been focused on giving back to the community where I live.” She explains that she enjoys her career and her ongoing charitable activities and highlights that working for a supportive employer like Siemens Healthineers is key.

Sophie Cotton, Training and Development Manager
Sophie began working for Siemens Healthineers in 2020. "I started in the business as a Training Coordinator where I supported the Apprenticeship Scheme. I was quickly developed and mentored by the business, and I soon progressed to be the Training & Development Manager," explains Sophie.
Sophie attests that Siemens Healthineers has helped her to develop impressive skills and advance her career. "I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Siemens Healthineers as an employer for all women," says Sophie. "I am very grateful for the opportunities that Siemens Healthineers has provided for me, and it has certainly given me a sense of pride working for a company that has such positive and significant impact on people's lives across the world."

Abigail Wibberley, Marketing Communications Executive
Abigail joined Siemens Healthineers in 2023 after completing a degree in International Business. Abigail took part in the Business Graduate Programme and describes the role as very varied. It enabled her to get to know different areas of the business such as Enterprise Services, Consulting, Marcomms, Social Value and Sustainability.
Through the graduate programme, Abigail was able to go on secondment to a Siemens Healthineers Value Partnership site – University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) NHS Trust – as a project manager. “This has been a hugely unique and eye-opening experience, understanding the challenges faced by the NHS in real time.”
In her first placement, Abigail discovered her passion for sustainability. Abigail became involved with the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee and now manages three strategic partnerships and promotes volunteering opportunities for employees. Abigail also fundraises in her spare time, swimming the Serpentine in September 2025 raising over £3.1K for a cancer charity. “Making time for my hobbies is vital for my wellbeing and productivity. I swim before work, take weekends to get outdoors and go to classes and training in the evenings.”
Role models have been important for Abigail – being coached and mentored by inspiring women has shown that it is possible to balance work and life. “When attending the Women in Leadership Conference in Erlangen last year with the StepUp Network, I was inspired by the women I met and look forward to continuing my journey as a woman in business.”
