Friendship Hospital unveils two advanced Siemens Healthineers MRI systems

Hanoi, Vietnam

|2025-01-14
  • The MAGNETOM Lumina 3.0T and MAGNETOM Sempra 1.5T MRI systems have been launched at Friendship Hospital.
  • The deployment of these systems marks a new direction in enhancing the quality of healthcare services in Vietnam.

Friendship Hospital hosted a ceremony to officially launch and commission the advanced MAGNETOM Lumina and MAGNETOM Sempra MRI systems, marking a major milestone in enhancing the hospital's diagnostic and treatment capabilities.

The launch event at the hospital drew notable attention from leaders of the Ministry of Health, representatives from the Department of Health, the Vietnam Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, leading experts in the field of diagnostic imaging, and representatives from other healthcare institutions.

Mr. Fabian Martin Singer, General Manager of Siemens Healthineers Vietnam, also shared: "Looking back to 1996, the first MRI system from Siemens Healthineers (then Siemens) in Vietnam was installed at Friendship Hospital, marking the beginning of a remarkable collaboration. Since then, we have worked together to build a solid foundation, contributing to the improvement of healthcare quality in Vietnam. Siemens Healthineers is honored and proud of this partnership with Friendship Hospital, one of Vietnam’s leading medical institutions. Today, the deployment of advanced technologies such as MAGNETOM Lumina and MAGNETOM Sempra further reinforces our commitment to supporting physicians in diagnosing and treating complex conditions effectively, thereby contributing to better health for the community."

The MAGNETOM Lumina, equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technology and modern software, enables a wide range of techniques, from routine procedures to specialized research. Notably, applications such as perfusion analysis, functional MRI, fiber tractography, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy enhance the efficiency of in-depth neurological examinations, providing maximum support for doctors in making accurate and timely clinical decisions, ultimately offering hope for more patients. Additionally, new techniques such as non-contrast cardiac MRI and free-breathing dynamic MRI help expand the range of patients who can undergo MRI scans.

Meanwhile, the MAGNETOM Sempra, renowned for its noise reduction, minimal interference, and automated operation with myExam Companion, enhances imaging speed through Deep Resolve, a deep learning technology. This opens up new possibilities for diagnosing common conditions such as musculoskeletal disorders, breast cancer, and cardiovascular diseases, while also reducing scan times to improve patient comfort.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, attendees were invited to tour the MRI facility and explore the standout features of these newly installed systems.
