Breast cancer is the most commonly occurring cancer in women and the most common cancer overall. According to GLOBOCAN, Vietnam recorded more than 21,500 breast cancer cases with more than 9,000 deaths in 2020. The trend is predicted to continue increasing by more than 50% in 20401. Early and accurate detection of breast lesions is critical for effective breast cancer treatment. Unfortunately, there is currently a lack of awareness and accessibility to breast cancer screening programs across the country. In order to improve accessibility to breast cancer screening in Vietnam, Siemens Healthineers and EMCAS Hospital Joint Stock Company, with the support from the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, German Industry and Commerce (AHK), and Deutsches Haus, has organized a free breast screening camp for women in Ho Chi Minh City, the busiest city in Vietnam, from January 5 to 11, 2023. This camp will promote routine breast screening, raise awareness of breast cancer, and improve access to breast cancer care in Vietnam. The participants in the camp will be put through a screening process that guarantees high discretion, privacy, and data protection, from registration to screening to consulting.
