In early 2020, the overwhelming impact of the COVID-19 pandemic was portentously felt by the Philippines’ healthcare system. Many hospitals in the rural and urban communities experienced the strain as they attempt to meet the surging demand of patients with available resources. Since then, COVID-19 has claimed the lives of more 60,000 Filipinos and recorded nearly 4 million confirmed cases.1

At the height of it, mobile radiography systems played a pivotal role in the monitoring and triaging of mild to severe cases of patients afflicted with SARS-CoV-2. In December 2020, 204 MOBILETT Elara Max were deployed to government hospitals in a span of 6 months. While community lockdowns restricted travel, more than 1200 radiologic technologists were strategically trained through virtual hands-on training using SmartSimulator - making them fully equipped to operate and maneuver the portable system when needed the most.

As one of the most common medical examinations performed for lung-related diseases, over 120 government hospitals across the country’s archipelago are now able to provide access to routine chest imaging with safety and ease of moving the mobile X-ray system at the patient’s bedside.
