At 6:00 a.m. on September 19, 2026, 40 volunteers from Siemens Healthineers Philippines, together with their colleagues and families, gathered at SM by the Bay to take part in the 2026 International Coastal Cleanup. Joining more than 20,000 volunteers across Manila Bay, the team collected approximately 100 kilograms of waste, including plastic wrappers, sachets, styrofoam fragments, and bottle caps.
This marked the third-year Siemens Healthineers Philippines participated in the cleanup. Colleagues were once again encouraged to bring family and friends, including children, making the activity an opportunity to volunteer together and experience firsthand the impact of individual actions.
Beyond the cleanup, employees and their companions gathered for a networking breakfast, giving everyone a chance to connect, share stories, and spend time together outside the usual work setting. For the team, the morning was a reminder that while one group cannot solve the problem of marine litter alone, every action counts and collective action can create a bigger impact.
"When you pick up these pieces one by one, you realize that what looks small can quickly add up. We still have a long way to go in protecting Manila Bay, but every effort counts. What matters is that we show up, take responsibility, and do our part together."
