On March 12, 2026, Siemens Healthineers, in collaboration with Hong Hung General Hospital, officially put the SOMATOM Pro.Pulse CT system into operation, marking the first installation of this technology in Vietnam.

Siemens Healthineers has been a long-term partner of Hong Hung General Hospital, supporting the deployment of advanced imaging systems including MAGNETOM Sempra, SOMATOM go.Top and Artis Zee.

The introduction of SOMATOM Pro.Pulse further strengthens this partnership, expanding access to advanced diagnostic imaging for communities in Tay Ninh and neighboring border regions.

As part of the program, Siemens Healthineers and Hong Hung General Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaboration framework focused on advancing diagnostic imaging, strengthening clinical capabilities, and expanding research and technology transfer.

This collaboration underscores Siemens Healthineers’ long-term commitment to advancing healthcare in Vietnam through innovation, clinical collaboration, and knowledge transfer.

SOMATOM Pro.Pulse integrates advanced AI capabilities and dual-source CT technology, delivering temporal resolution of up to 86 milliseconds. This enables high-quality imaging even in patients with high or irregular heart rates.

Dual-energy imaging further enhances tissue characterization, supporting the detection of subtle lesions across a wide range of clinical applications, including cardiovascular, neurological, musculoskeletal, oncological, and respiratory care.

In addition, SOMATOM Pro.Pulse is designed to significantly reduce contrast media usage by up to 49%, making it particularly suitable for sensitive patient groups such as those with renal impairment, pediatric and elderly patients, or individuals requiring repeated scans.

“The installation of the SOMATOM Pro.Pulse system marks a significant milestone in the technological collaboration between Hong Hung General Hospital and Siemens Healthineers, while also enhancing access to advanced diagnostic imaging services for patients in Tay Ninh Province and neighboring border areas.” - Said Ngan Tran Thanh, Head of Sales, Siemens Healthineers Vietnam.

Alongside the launch, a scientific symposium titled “Unlocking the power of dual-source technology and AI in diagnostic imaging” brought together leading experts in diagnostic imaging and cardiology to discuss how these innovations are reshaping clinical practice.

The sessions highlighted the application of dual-source CT in cardiovascular, neurological, and stroke imaging, along with early clinical experiences in coronary interventions. Notably, the adoption of dual-source CT has enabled Hong Hung General Hospital to eliminate the use of heart rate–lowering medications, including beta blockers, even in patients with high or irregular heart rates, demonstrating its real-world clinical value.
