Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Vietnam. According to the 2020 Research Gate's research, the incidence of breast cancer in Vietnam has doubled in the past two decades. Accurate and early detection of breast lesions is the key to effective breast cancer treatment, while improving the efficiency and allowing for cost saving for the treatment of patients.
Understanding the importance of breast cancer screening, in September 2020 Hanoi General Hospital officially inaugurated a high-tech MammoCare Center with the expectation to open new opportunities in treating complex breast-related diseases. MammoCare Center is equipped with high-end systems, including the MAMMOMAT Inspiration digital mammography system.
Doctors in Hanoi General Hospital shared their experiences with MAMMOMAT Inspiration, where the system provides high resolution images enabling accurate breast cancer diagnosis and screening, especially for minor and marginal lesions. The 3D screening technology helps to clearly determine the location, the size, and the status of the tumor, with a radiation dose reduction by 30%. Patient survey results shows that 95% patients said they didn’t feel the pain caused by pressure.
MAMMOMAT Inspiration is expected to contribute to the setting of new standard in breast cancer treatment.
