Updating healthcare practitioners with the latest in clinical practice in Vietnam!

Siemens Healthineers, together with its business partner, collaborated with Ha Tinh General Hospital to organize “An update in application of advanced lab assays in clinical practice” workshop on 25 January 2024. The workshop witnessed the presence of Dr. Hoang Quang Trung, Director Ha Tinh General Hospital, Ms. Hoang Thanh Huyen, Head of Lab Solutions, Vietnam and more than 60 clinicians and doctors.

Moderated by Dr. Le Van Dung, Deputy Director, Ha Tinh General Hospital, participants had the opportunity to learn from the presentations of leading experts: Assoc. Prof. Ho Sy Hung, Deputy Director, National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology's National Centre for Reproductive Support; MD. PhD. Dao Huyen Quyen, Head of Biochemistry Laboratory, Bach Mai hospital and MD. PhD. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, head of Department of Cytology a Histology, National Institute of Hematology and Blood transfusion. The presentations covered several topics:

  • The application of hormones (including. FSH, LH, Prolactin, Estrogen (Estradiol mainly), Progesterone, Testosterone…) and introduction of AMH in assessing ovarian reverse – Dr. Ho Sy Hung
  • Tumor markers - useful tools in cancer patient management, focus on 4 principles: sensitivity and specificity, controlled cut-offs, kinetics of tumor markers, and combining multiple serum biomarkers in tumor diagnostics – Dr. Dao Huyen Quyen
  • Utilizing hematology parameters (i.e., scattergram of red blood cells, %Micro/%Hypo, CHr and rPLT…) as a useful tool for diagnosing blood diseases – Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung.

Ha Tinh General Hospital plays an important role in providing healthcare services in the central region of Vietnam. The Hospital has also acquired the Atellica® Solution and ADVIA 2120i from Siemens Healthineers.

The workshop wrapped up with a visiting tour at the Laboratory department which included the Atellica® Solution system and ADVIA 2120i.
