An 89-year-old male patient, complaining of unspecific abdominal pain and hematuria, came to the hospital for a checkup. Physical examination and laboratory tests suggested a prostatic hyperplasia as the cause of hematuria. An abdominal contrast CT scan was performed on a dual source photon-counting CT, NAEOTOM Alpha®, to rule out any other potential cause.

A 22-month-old girl with a cardiac murmur was diagnosed with congenital heart disease and admitted for surgical repair. A pulmonary CTA was requested for preoperative evaluation.

A 20-year-old male patient with a FOOSH injury underwent a screw fixation of the scaphoid and later, a revision surgery due to non-union of the fracture. A follow-up CT showed unclear bone structure around the screw with the presence of metal artifacts. Further evaluation was performed using a UHR scan mode on a photon-counting CT (NAEOTOM Alpha®).

A 13-year-old female patient,  with left elbow complaints for the past 18 months, had a radiograph of the elbow which showed a suspicious osteochondritis dissecans of the capitellum. For further evaluation, an ultra-high resolution scan mode on a photon-counting CT scanner (NAEOTOM Alpha®) was requested.

The NAEOTOM Alpha®, a newly developed dual-source CT scanner with photon-counting detectors (QuantaMax®), has the potential to address some of the challenges of cCTA. It provides energy-resolved CT data without electronic noise at improved spatial resolution.

A 14-year-old girl presented herself to the emergency department due to a fall onto her outstretched right hand. Radiographs performed revealed only equivocal result. A CT scan was requested for further evaluation, using an ultra-high resolution mode on a photon-counting CT scanner (NAEOTOM Alpha).

A 62-year-old female obese patient, with a history of arterial hypertension and hyperlipidemia, presented to the institutional chest pain unit with typical angina and an extensive cardiovascular risk profile. A coronary CT angiography was performed using a dual source photon-counting detector (PCD) CT (NAEOTOM Alpha®) in ultra-high resolution (UHR) mode.

A 64-year-old female patient with a history of metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma came to the hospital due to a novel lesion found in the pancreatic head, which partially obstructed the portal vein, raising the concern of either tumor invasion or thrombus formation. A contrast-enhanced CT scan was requested and performed on a photon-counting CT.

A 76-year-old female patient had an incidental CT finding of a pancreatic cystic lesion 6 years ago. Recently, the lesion showed a slight increase in size. An endoscopic ultrasound examination was performed; however, the cytological analysis was inconclusive. Further assessment was requested by contrast-enhanced CT.

A 74-year-old female patient, with a history of bilateral stapedectomy and stapes prosthesis insertion 10 years ago, came to the hospital complaining of a progressive, worsening conductive hearing loss on the left side for over the past 2 years. A CT examination using a ultra-high resolution (UHR) scan mode was performed for evaluation.
