Digital Experience Hall
European Congress of Radiology

In collaboration with the European Society of Radiology, Siemens Healthineers hosted a special exhibition at the 2019 ECR - the Digital Experience Hall.

In the coming years, technologies are likely to fundamentally transform diagnostic imaging into a much more data-driven research discipline. Technologies like AI and VR are on the table, but how will they change radiology?
The idea for the Digital Experience Hall is to make digitalization more tangible, not just to talk about possible future paths, but to give people the possibility to really experience what radiology in the future might be like.

Will AI render radiologists obsolete?

Artificial Intelligence could change the role of the radiologist. AI won’t replace the radiologist. But it actually could make their job more exciting, says Anthony Chang MD, Chief Intelligence and Innovation Officer at CHOC Children’s Hospital

Benefits of AI in radiology today and potential for the future

Why are neuro networks and deep learning to intriguing? What are the benefits of AI in radiology today? And what about the potential for tomorrow? Dr. Peter D. Chang, a physician software engineer, and the director of the Center for AI in Diagnostic Medicine at UC Irvine, shares his views with us.

Cybersecurity in healthcare

Cybersecurity in healthcare is a pressing concern. “Information determines if a physician can make the right or wrong decision – it’s about life and death sometimes,” says Carlos Arglebe, our Chief Information Security Officer.

What’s the potential value of a Digital Twin?

Our topic expert Chloé Audigier shares an example of how the Digital Twin could be helpful in cardiac resychronization therapy.
