An eye on the big picture. A knack for detail.
Jana Petersik has extensive management experience in both the healthcare sector and in corporate business development. Her skills are an asset to Siemens Healthineers Value Partners for Healthcare Consulting, where she manages the departmental solutions team – helping them provide customers with tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
“Through our combination of skills, we can help our customers achieve the tailored solutions they need. We can help them design and implement innovative and effective new ways of optimizing their workflow.”
Pairing healthcare experience with expertise in organizational management
After spending a few years working in the healthcare space, Jana spent the next 10 years in business development, including 8 years as a managing director responsible for restructuring companies. “Then I said, ‘Okay, what is my next step?’ Finally, I decided to combine my two strengths, healthcare and business development.”
So, Jana joined Siemens Healthineers Value Partners in September 2019, where she can put both her healthcare and business experience to excellent use. Her background in clinical risk management has given her valuable insights into clinical decision making, which she brings to bear on her work as a Consultant for Siemens Healthineers Value Partners. She finds it gratifying when her skills help her to improve healthcare outcomes.
Optimizing outcomes through the right combination of skills
She is also working on growing her team, where she is grappling with some of the same challenges that many healthcare providers face. Finding qualified candidates who meet the high standards of Siemens Healthineers Value Partners isn’t always easy.
“We’re looking for consultants with clinical experience — because you can only do high-quality consulting if you understand the system you’re working within. And our team members also have to know how to deliver a successful consulting project.”
Though recruiting candidates with these qualifications is challenging, Jana notes, it’s rewarding in the end. “Through this combination of skills, we can help our customers achieve the tailored solutions they need. We can help them design and implement innovative and effective new ways of optimizing their workflow.”
“When you have the chance to influence clinical decision making in a way that improves outcomes, it's a really cool feeling — knowing that what you do is benefitting others.”
How operational solutions can streamline the delivery of care
And she believes Siemens Healthineers Value Partners are in a unique position to help healthcare providers meet these challenges. “At Siemens Healthineers we’re at the forefront of innovation and digitalization. We know how to implement AI-powered solutions, for example. We know how to handle data in general. We have all the tools.”
Taking a swing at the toughest challenges in healthcare… and on the golf course
Seeing projects through to the end, and validating results
She adds, “While other consultants don’t always measure the results of implementation, that’s a crucial part of our responsibility – to evaluate the difference our solution has made in terms of increased efficiency, reduced costs, and improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.”
