Deepali Tripathi: Sales Expert, Dancer, Thrill Seeker

2018-02-02

Here, Deepali talks about her passion for sales:

"When you hear the word “sales”, you might think it’s all just numbers and high pressure, but it’s not like that at all. Achieving and exceeding sales targets is a real thrill – especially when it’s for a company like Siemens Healthineers. You’re hitting targets that will help your customers to provide better care to their patients. It’s incredibly motivating. Plus, I get to work with all sorts of different people, which helps me to grow and develop. I am trained as a dietician, so the 15 years I’ve spent in sales was not the most obvious career path for me, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’ve worked in so many different fields – intensive care, anesthesiology, clinical consumables, and in vitro and in vivo diagnostics to name just a few – and I love the buzz that comes with winning new customers."

Valuable time with her family, Deepali with her husband Gulshan Kumar and son Kushagrra G Kalra, who inspired her sporting passion.

"There’s no such thing as a typical working day for me. My job is to make our customers happy and retain their loyalty to Siemens Healthineers. Those customers are large hospitals and diagnostic laboratories, which don’t work on a nine-to-five basis. When they need our support, we have to be ready to go – whether it’s to handle a crisis, discuss diagnostic results, examine throughput times, or explore options for expanding their lab equipment. I’m never bored! And I always make sure that I find time for winding down: Dancing and playing cricket are some of my favorite hobbies. Music and dance is the perfect way to switch off after a hectic week."
