The delegation was accompanied by the local business partners for diagnostic imaging, Penotee Multi-Activities Co. Ltd, and the local distributor for laboratory diagnostics, Nasif Medical Investment & Construction.

Specifically brought into focus during the three-days trip were discussions on how Siemens Healthineers can enhance their presence in the country by introducing modern diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and how we can join forces to expand diagnostic and therapeutic services for oncology patients, working closely together with our business partners.

Ole Per Maloy, Managing Director Siemens Healthineers, Middle East, Southern & Eastern Africa said: “We were delighted to meet and have a meaningful and fruitful exchange with Ministry of Health officials and healthcare leaders in Sudan this week to discuss how Siemens Healthineers can expand access to care in the country. The representatives were received by Dr. Abdel Moneim Al-Tayeb, Director of the National Center for Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Ibn Sina Specialized Hospital and were introduced to the newly built Liver Transplant Center and the Gastrointestinal Bleeding Center, partly supplied by Siemens Healthineers.

A visit to Al-Arms Medical Hospital – Medical Laboratories Department led by Nasif Medical Investment & Construction provided insights into local operations in the laboratory environment.

Afterwards, the delegation engaged with representatives of Italian Peace Heart Hospital in the suburb of Soba, meeting the Director of the hospital and the Director of the Italian Humanitarian Organization ‘Emergency’ in Sudan to discuss the modernization of the hospital's devices and the expansion of the utilization of Siemens Healthineer’s capabilities in projects across the organization’s hospitals and medical centers. The hospital operates based on donations and provides free, high-quality healthcare for underserving communities and patients who cannot afford treatment costs for cardiac surgery; a true example demonstrating our ambition to improve access to care.
