Planning a hybrid operating room that exploits the full potential of the available space while ensuring seamless interaction between the planned systems is no easy task. Together with an international team, Erik Fosse, professor of medicine at Oslo University and director of the university hospital's intervention center, set about doing just that.

If you ask Erik Fosse, long-time and passionate musician, planning a hybrid intervention room is a bit like arranging an orchestra on the stage – to harmonize well, everything has to be in the right place.

The experience, trust, and careful planning resulting from the collaboration with an international team produced a hybrid operating room that not only innovatively combines different modalities to exploit the full potential of the technology but could also provide a blueprint for realizing similar projects in the future.
