Siemens Healthineers has announced the introduction of the ‘Anna Hampshire Education Achievement Award’, recognising academic achievement in either an undergraduate or postgraduate radiography course. The award, which is free of charge, welcomes entries from every department of radiography and aims to recognise the top two or three students in the final year of their course. Each recipient will receive two free online places to Siemens Healthineers Academy courses on CT, MRI or MI.

Anna Hampshire, who started her career with Siemens Healthineers as a Clinical Applications Specialist before taking up the role of Education Services Operations Manager lost her life to pancreatic cancer earlier this year. This award is a tribute to her memory, recognising her contribution to Siemens Healthineers Education.

City, University of London has already installed the award as an annual event, with the first prizes presented in June 2022, and Siemens Healthineers hopes to engage every department of radiography across Great Britain & Ireland in the future.

“This award enables us to remember Anna and her proactive approach to education by extending access to the Siemens Healthineers Academy for more students and universities, as Anna would have wanted if she was still with us today,” states Chris Wright, Head of Customer Services Business Development & Support at Siemens Healthineers.

"This is a generous award that recognises academic excellence amongst our postgraduate radiography students. Our awardees find it very useful for their learning and career progression and we, at City, University of London, see it as evidence of our strong industry-academic partnership with Siemens Healthineers," adds Dr Christina Malamateniou, Director of Postgraduate Radiography programme at City, University of London.
