Assessment Using Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Elastography
This session will be held in the French language only.
Elastography assesses mechanical tissue properties. The technique evolved over the last two decades and is now available on clinical ultrasound and MR systems. Main clinical applications pertaining to liver will be discussed:
- Staging and monitoring of liver fibrosis
- Spleen stiffness for prediction of portal hypertension
- Characterization of focal liver lesions
- Discuss the clinical need for liver fibrosis staging
- Review the basic principles of elastography
- Discuss ultrasound (US) and magnetic resonance (MR) elastography
