The Financial Crisis and Healthcare Reform: An Opportunity for Laboratories

Thank you for your interest in our AACC Workshop "The Financial Crisis and Healthcare Reform: An Opportunity for Laboratories"

Summary: With the current financial crisis and the topic of healthcare reform high on the national policy agenda, healthcare facilities must weigh their options on how best to position themselves for success despite the challenges they face. This workshop, which provides an overview of the macroeconomic outlook on healthcare and the potential impact of healthcare reform, also includes a discussion on how laboratories can position themselves to survive these tough economic times. A case study will be presented about how one facility proactively built a successful outreach program as a practical strategy to improve the financial performance of its laboratory.
