ECR Highlights

2018-03-07

This year’s ECR was great success! We really enjoyed presenting our latest innovations, and we’d like to thank all of you for visiting us. You haven’t had the change to attend the ECR in person? Here’s a round-up of the Siemens Healthineers highlights.

Siemens Healthineers has unveiled their new ultrasound system ACUSON Juniper at the European Congress of Radiology 2018.
ACUSON Juniper was designed from the ground up with user feedback and needs in mind.

Siemens Healthineers incorporated feedback from 365 participants in its largest-ever ultrasound co-creation project to ensure that the ACUSON Juniper meets the needs of today’s changing healthcare landscape. Users can customize the ACUSON Juniper based on patient interactions for improved clinical workflow as the system’s versatility and adaptability makes it ideal for diverse patient anatomies and physiologies. Sleep and boot-up times of mere seconds allow clinical users now to transfer the system within a hospital without sacrificing time with patients.

The ACUSON Juniper, the smallest, most lightweight system in its class, has flexible, intuitive and customizable tilt settings in order to address the needs of differing clinical departments. Further the ACUSON Juniper’s LED monitor and touch panel are the largest in its segment.2 The system’s two standard USB ports enable quick transfer of images to patients, eliminating the need for print-out documentation. With an imaging performance that belies its small size, the ACUSON Juniper is powered by a completely new imaging platform that was designed from the ground up with user feedback and needs in mind.

Siemens Healthineers has launched the 1.5 Tesla MRI MAGNETOM Sola which makes BioMatrix Technology available for the first time at a 1.5 Tesla MRI.
The innovative BioMatrix technology is available for the first time at the 1.5 Tesla MRI MAGNETOM Sola.

„Making precision medicine available in daily routine is crucial to the future development of radiology. Still, inconsistencies and unwanted variability often make the path towards truly personalized medicine more difficult and also currently limit productivity in MR imaging,” explains deputy institute director Professor Ulrike Attenberger, Deparment of Clinical Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, University Medical Center Mannheim, Medical Faculty, Heidelberg University.

The planned 1.5 Tesla MRI MAGNETOM Sola1 now helps to further expand robustness, standardization and productivity in MR imaging. With BioMatrix as a core technology it will support users with consistent results on the path to precision medicine reducing unwanted variations in MRI examinations, while also offering highly efficient workflows, regardless of the type of examination and patient.

The new mobile C-arm Cios Select is boosting precision in routine surgery.

Patient care can now be improved without high investment costs for standard surgical procedures in particular. The new C-arm Cios Select3 now makes flat-panel detector technology available in the medium price segment which means routine surgery may benefit from better image quality at a higher resolution and very low radiation exposure. Moreover the 99.8 percent system availability4 and its low maintenance requirements reduce operating cost. The C-arm also offers many other features designed specifically for intraoperative imaging in orthopedics, trauma surgery, urology, pain management and peripheral vascular surgery.
